About Spring CAEPCon
Twice a year, the educator preparation profession gathers at the CAEP Conference (CAEPCon) to advance equity and excellence in educator preparation and support continuous improvement to strengthen P-12 student learning. CAEPCon provides the field with a unique opportunity to interact directly with CAEP staff, as well as peers to develop a better understanding of the CAEP accreditation process and CAEP Standards. Sessions focus on important topics such as quality assessments, data literacy, diverse clinical practices, demonstrating program impact, developing a quality assurance system, and more. CAEP looks forward to having you join us for our Spring 2020 CAEPCon event in New Orleans, Louisiana!
Main Conference Programming
CAEPCon gives educator preparation providers (EPPs) the chance to share innovative ideas, continuous improvement experiences, transformational practice, and evidence-supported successes with other EPPs. Educator preparation providers have an opportunity to network and share best practices, while gaining new ideas. To this end, CAEP works to provide attendees with multiple perspectives at each presentation. At any given session, presenters may be CAEP staff, board members, accreditation Councilors, site visitors, and/or members of EPPs with accreditation process experience.
Whether you're new to the accreditation process or a seasoned veteran, there is always something to learn! From beginning to end, attendees can enjoy learning and networking opportunities that extend beyond the main conference programming. You will not want to miss these CAEPCon features.
PreCon Orientation Sessions
CAEP offers free and optional pre-conference sessions, or PreCons, designed to give CAEPCon-goers and early look into what’s in store for them at CAEPCon. PreCons aid attendees in navigating the conference and provide guidance towards content best suited for whenever you are in the accreditation process. These 1-hour, introductory sessions are intentionally staggered to allow for attendance to multiple PreCons.
This spring’s conference features four (4) PreCon Orientation Sessions: Novice Level, Interim Advanced-Level Programs, Experienced Level, and Program Review.

PostCon 1: Self-Study Report: A How-To Workshop
Get ready to write! This workshop is for EPPs preparing to write a self-study report (SSR). Participants will be given the opportunity to walk through the process and learn the expectations for content and formatting on the Self-Study Report.
PostCon 2: A3: Accreditation, Accountability, and Assessment Workshop
This workshop will explore the latest information and methods to help EPPs understand the expectations for addressing validity and reliability of EPP-created assessments. Participants will gain a better understanding of validity and reliability in the context of the accreditation process.
