Assistant Professor

The College enrolls approximately 450 students in three degree programs: a newly revised and approved interdisciplinary Ph.D., a growing Master of Information Management (MIM), and the highly respected Master of Library Science (MLS). It is home to nationally ranked programs in Archives and Records Management, School Library Media, and Children’s Information Services and is known internationally for its vibrant program of interdisciplinary research in information access, retrieval, and use; digital libraries; and information policy and e-government. Our new colleague will contribute to the further development of all programs, weave his/her own courses into the curricula, and have the opportunity to teach in all programs offered by the College.
The tenure-track appointment is for nine months, with opportunities for grant-funded summer research and/or summer teaching.
Qualifications. Ph.D. or equivalent degree in information studies, library/information science, education, or a related field; demonstrated record of research accomplishments or demonstrated potential for research excellence; demonstrated record of attracting outside funding or demonstrated potential for attracting and managing outside funding; and evidence of or potential for effective and innovative teaching. Experience working in a school, public, or academic library is preferred.
